Realization of Years of Refinements

Hifiman has been working on integrating wireless, their in house custom Hymalaya DAC and headphone amp stages into their headphone housing, for many years. 

Over 10 years ago Hifiman had several models of portable music players, then had bluetooth headphones with compact exterior wireless modules, such as the Deva model, wireless earphones, the HM800 IEM dac/amp & two generations of Ananda bluetooth, with a similar form factor to this HE1000 WiFi.

HE1000 WiFi Latest Driver Technologies

The largest upgrade from the Arya WiFi to the HE1000 WiFi can be found in the drivers. HE1000 WiFi use a version of the thinner, lighter weight Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm as opposed to the thicker, heavier material used in the Arya WiFi based on the Neo Supernano Gen 2 technology. 

A Hifiman innovation, the Nanometer material is so thin that if viewed from the side, it would be invisible at literally a nanometer thick. Driver materials ideally should be as durable and light as possible and this is one of the best Planar Magnetic, or any headphone driver, ever developed. 

Having developed so many generations of these materials, Hifiman can produce drivers with this material to produce incredible combination of positive attributes for hifi listening and for providing high performance as well as long lasting use. Bass depth, responsiveness, dynamics, clarity, detail, soundstage are all at the top or near the top of what is currently available. 

Hifiman's other recent tech is here as well, from the Enhanced Magnets that offer performance similar to previous versions, without the use of rare earth materials, to the Stealth Magnets, shaped to be acoustically invisible and reduce distortion. 

Excellent Fit and Comfort

HE1000 WiFi uses the new composite headband, Headband Gen2, made from steel, plastic and microfiber, for an improved fit, lighter weight and a smooth industrial design that stays tight to the shape of the head. The suspended wide, ventilated headband stays cool during use and the huge, breathable earpads leave plenty of room for your ears without heating up as much as other headphones. 

Use Over USB or Bluetooth as Well

Aside from using the unique WiFi technology, you can also use these as a simple wired headphone via a usb-c cable into a phone or computer. This also provides lossless listening, using the headphone as the DAC and headphone amp, for the same incredible fidelity as over wifi. 

Other than WiFi and USB, the third option is use over bluetooth. There is AAC for iphones, apt-x for macbooks and LDAC for higher resolution from android phones. Audio quality over blueooth can still be very good and its a great option from you TV for movies, your ipad for music, etc.

For more regular use over bluetooth, consider buying a mini bluetooth transmitter like FiiO Airlink or Noble Sceptre, which allows you to enjoy higher audio quality listening from any usb source over the higher fidelity  LDAC codec. Perfect for iphones, ipads and computer use.  

If you buy HE1000 WiFi you should check for firmware updates every 2-3 months, for improvements and updates.
